Linseed cake for horses, dogs, cats and cattle 

Cold pressed linseed flakes (ready to feed) from our own production, for a healthy digestion and a shiny coat. At LIVOS the linseed cakes are produced with the help of a traditional linseed oil press. Only high quality and pure linseeds are used, from which linseed oil and linseed cake are obtained as a by-product in a very gentle cold pressing process. The press residues – linseed cakes or also called linseed flakes – are mainly used in the animal feed industry due to their health-promoting properties.

Our linseed cake is suitable for horses, dogs, cats and cattle and can be ordered in quantities of 5 kg, but also in big bags of up to 500 kg (upon request).

The advantages for the health of your animal

Linseed cakes, like the linseeds themselves, contain valuable ingredients. The high proportion of the polyunsaturated omega 3 fatty acid "alpha-linolenic acid", the high-quality vegetable protein and the valuable mucilage in the seed coat are particularly beneficial. Furthermore, the also called linseed flakes contain, among other things, lecithin, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin E, folic acid (vitamin B9), pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), antioxidants, minerals and amino acids such as lysine. Linseed cakes thus promote health in several ways.

The water-soluble and water-insoluble mucilages contained in linseed cakes have a softening and soothing effect on the mucous membranes and form a protective layer. They thus support the regeneration of the stomach and intestines and improve gliding properties. Furthermore, linseed cakes regulate the intestinal flora, promote the multiplication of good microorganisms in the intestine, support the absorption of nutrients and counteract digestive disorders (diarrhea, constipation).

The unsaturated fatty acids of linseed have an anti-inflammatory effect and strengthen the immune system. In addition, just like the vitamins and minerals, they ensure a healthy, intact skin, a shiny coat and a smooth coat change. With their high fat and protein content, linseed cakes are especially beneficial and recommended for feeding older, sick and difficult to feed animals and during rearing.

The independent laboratory LUFA ITL (Kiel) of the AGROLAB GROUP has successfully tested LIVOS COLONY linseed cake for nutrients, heavy metals, dioxins, furans, genetic engineering, mycotoxins and pesticides. 

Application range

Ideal as a treat and as a supplement to the feed for horses, cattle, dogs,  and cats. Not suitable for horses with metabolic problems, because of very high protein content.

Technical qualities

Ready to feed linseed product. Regular addition to the feed ensures a shiny coat and optimal digestion. Cooking not necessary. To supplement plant-based feed with essential amino acids.

General feeding recommendation

horses: up to 20 g per 100 kg body weight daily

large dogs: up to 10 g daily, 

small dogs & cats: up to 5 g daily
