Wood is exposed to many stresses in outdoor areas. LIVOS products protect for years with natural, renewable raw materials such as our cold-pressed linseed oil.

Tip: Be sure to use coloured oils or stains. Why?
Just like our skin, wood needs a kind of sun cream to protect it against UV radiation, because: The wood component lignin holds the wood fibres together like a kind of putty. UV rays that reach the surface of the wood attack the lignin and break it down. The wood becomes grey and fibrous. With colourless products, the wood is protected from moisture, but UV light slowly decomposes the coating, i.e. more frequent maintenance is necessary. A coloured oil or glaze resists UV radiation and makes the wood weatherproof and water-repellent. LIVOS uses mineral pigments for this purpose.
